Marta Rosalie (Pascoe) Gardner unexpectedly March 31, 2017 in Eastern Niagara Hospital Lockport. Born March 11, 1936 in Hornell, NY she was a daughter of the late Howard and Marion (Peck) Pascoe. A 1953 graduate of Hornell High School she attended Geneseo and later Brockport earning her master’s degree. Marta worked at Holy Family School in LeRoy as a teacher, in ARC in Livingston Wyoming, and in 1987 for the NYS Developmental Center in West Seneca retiring in 2002. An artist working in oil paintings of mostly dogs and horses she also enjoyed knitting. Marta was a friend of the Wilson Library a member of the Hamburg Moose Lodge and loved spending time with family and friends. She met and married Reverend Ralph Gardner December 22, 1981 and have lived in Wilson for the past 14 years, surviving besides her husband are Patricia, Lee, and Dean (Joyce) Hess; Marion (Dennis) Gorman; late Kenneth (Susan) Gardner; June Embert; Jan (Louis) Cotto and Susan (Steve) Patruska. Sisters Alice (Earl) Derienzo; Carol Pascoe; and Linda Barnes also survived by several grandchildren, great grandchildren, many nieces’ nephews and cousins. Services will be held at a later date memorial contributions to Friends of the Wilson Library or to Martin F. Jennings Post 836 Wilson. Arrangements by Hamilton and Clark Funeral Home.
Krystal Isabel Irrobali, 19, of Lockport, passed suddenly on February 17, 2017. Born in Phoenix, Arizona September 7, 1997 to her parents Beatrice Aldrow and Late Chris Irrobali. Krystal was a lover of many things, skateboarding, art, music, traveling, working out, she was in the Glee Club and the LBGT clubs at Lockport High School which she graduated in 2016. She was a loving soul, she was kind to everyone she met and she wanted people to know that it was okay to be different. Krystal leaves behind her mother Beatrice Aldrow, step father James Aldrow, brother Chris Irrobali Jr. of California, sister Celeste(Kyle)Schalage of Newfane and many extended family and friends. The memorial service will be held at a later date by the family.
Edward Zwolenkiewicz, 67 of Lockport, passed February 19, 2017. Born July 26, 1949 to his mother Lorraine he lived his whole life in Western New York. He worked as a meat cutter at Tops for many years, he enjoyed bingo and bowling and spending time with his family. Edward is survived by Linda (Tim Carney) Harden-Zwolenkiewicz, his children David Hardee, Kenny Zwolenkiewicz, Jason Zwolenkiewicz and Tabitha Zwolenkiewicz, grandson Nathan Richards and many siblings and friends. A visitation will be held Thursday the 23 at 7-9pm at Ross Funeral Home Gaul Chapel in Lockport.
John G. Owens
John G. Owens March 21, 2017 with his family at his side while under Niagara Hospice Care. Born August 15, 1928 in St. Clair, MI he was a son of the late John M. and Genieve (Slocum) Owens and step son of David Grabbit. A graduate of Riverside High School he also attended UB after which he moved to Wilson then entered the Army. He met Edith E. Wheeler in 1949 and married her in Alaska July 31, 1951 while serving in the Army Corp of Engineers. Upon returning home he worked for the Village of Wilson DPW then went to Carborundum as a Millwright retiring in the 80’s. An avid fisherman he became charter boat captain John Owens and was artisan wood worker making beautiful furniture. A devout Christian he and his wife would take people into their home over the years. Surviving besides his wife are daughters Cheryl (Donald) Vanhorn; Candice (Douglas) Perry; Beth (John) Duemmer; adoptive son Ronald LaJoie; and sisters Shirley (Walter) Evans and Barbara Bowman; Grandchildren Eric (Sue) Hyjek, Bryan, Jonathan, and Jeffrey Kraatz, Lacey and Johnathan Duemmer, William (Katlin) Vanhorn Bridget (Rick Bergen) Kiely, Vanessa Vanhorn also survived by numerous great grandchildren many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held Saturday at 11 A.M. in Exley United Methodist Church with luncheon to follow.
